Home Velocite Bicycles Flux

About the Velocite Flux. The quicksilver.

Velocite Flux was developed to deliver the best off road performance when the terrain gets technical, or fast. It is not a frame for showing off to friends, or for keeping indoors, or for riding on paved roads. The Flux is a thorough- bred high modulus, high compaction monocoque carbon fiber frame for trail domination and winning.

Velocite Flux is not an ultralight frame. It does not aim to look impressive on paper, or to be used for bragging rights. Nevertheless, the weight of just 1.3kg for size M (19") is perfectly reasonable.

While there are lighter frames, none are stiffer or more durable than the Velocite Flux. We can confidently stake this claim since we used the best available materials, and the best available construction methods, and we avoided making an ultra light frame on purpose.

Stiff frame allows you to remain in much greater control when the terrain gets technical, or when you are trying to go as fast as possible. A stiff frame allows you to maintain your line without loss of control. When navigating challenging drops or rocky and rooty sections, you will have a lot more confidence on the Velocite Flux than on a lesser frame. Similarly, on fast flowing trails where you will reach speeds at which you need to maintain focus, a stiff frame will allow you to precisely guide it along the fastest line, with minimal guesswork

The trade-off is a small weight increase that is detrimental when climbing, but again the increased stiffness maintains its performance lead due to increased power transfer and better rear wheel traction since you will not be deflecting it sideways on every power stroke.

Design

There is very little decoration on the matt unidirectional carbon finished frame. The advanced layup is clearly visible. Another striking feature is the "bow" shape - the top tube and the seat stays form a perfect and uninter- rupted carbon composite bow. This design allows us to use the smallest possible front triangle size which is a clever engineering way to further increase the frame stiffness, and it provides possibly the lowest standover height of any cross country MTB frame.

We also avoided using acute angles or sharp edges for the tube profiles on the Flux. While under optimal conditions, sharp edges or square shapes increase the stiffness of the structure, they are also stress risers, or force concentrators. The asymmetric 1.5" head tube allows the use of the new generation high performance forks, while the BB30 bottom bracket standard does the same to the crank sets. These features complete what is already an impressive frame.

Geometry

The geometry of the Velocite Flux is very aggressive. The steeper seat tube angle engages more of your muscle groups (similar to road bikes) for best possible performance over longer distances. It also places you more towards the middle of the frame for better control and balance
