About the Velocite Helios. The star.
Even its name signifies something special - Helios is an ancient Greek god of Sun. Velocite Helios also has a sibling, the alloy Velocite Selene frame that shares the same features and geometry, but is made from 7005 alloy, delivering the best possible training or racing partner. Velocite Helios and Selene are the first purpose built frames that can be used interchangeably depending on your needs.
Velocite Helios was developed to have no equals in the modern peloton. It delivers that almost magic combination of power and comfort without ever appearing soft or indecisive.
It enables you to truly ride at your limit for hours, both climbing or descending. It has no weak spots. Even the often difficult internal cable routing has been perfected to offer the lest resistance and the best possible shifting perfor- mance.
Design
The Velocite Helios was designed to be the best performing stage racing frame in the world. From the use of advanced high modulus carbon fiber to the choice of BB30 and the 1.5" asymmetric heat tube, to the possibly best performing internal cable routing system currently available.
Each frame design element was implemented based on its performance merits, not marketing priorities. There is nothing on the Velocite Helios that has no direct engineering purpose. This extends to the lack of the cosmetic carbon top layer - you can clearly observe the unidirectional carbon layup on the unpainted rear triangle section.
All tubes are oversize and optimized for maximum stiffness. The ultra thin seat stays ensure that this exceptional frame stiffness does not result in a harsh ride.
The Helios is so stiff and responsive that during testing one of our riders remarked that riding the Helios downhill feels like "riding a motorbike". The control and confidence are exceptional.
Geometry
The geometry of the Velocite Helios is that of a stage racer. You can stay comfortable in the saddle for many hours, day after day without loss of power due to discomfort. However due to its thoroughbred credentials, the Velocite Helios is also very well suited to shorter races or criteriums.
