About the Velocite Magnus. The bulldog. The alien.
Velocite Magnus was developed to be different. From the first glance it is quite obvious that this is not your average frame.
It does not do anything that modern "wisdom" dictates: it is not subtle, it is not painted, it would be a stretch to call it elegant, and it does not look comfortable.
What it is, is fast. Truly, uncompromisingly, fast. If you have what it takes to ride the Magnus at its limits, there is very likely no faster road frame anywhere else.
Design
The raw power of the frame can be easily appreciated by anyone that beholds the Magnus since there is no paint on it. Even the H. R. Giger inspired red graphics are just special transfer decals, not paint. There is also no cosmetic top layer of carbon. There is not a single piece of carbon on the Magnus that is not functional.
You can therefore easily see the amazing patchwork of high modulus unidirectional carbon layup. This layup was very carefully optimized to deliver ultimate stiffness and still result in an ultra light frame.
The monocoque "tube" profiles are deliberately all over sized. Starting at the asymmetric 1.5" head tube and traveling backwards to the oversize rear triangle elements. This was done to maximize the stiffness of the frame
The bottom bracket is made to be incredibly stiff. It is designed to make flex achievable only on laboratory test machines, but even the strongest riders at maximum power output should not be able to notice it. There is no "wind up" moment with the Magnus - acceleration is instant.
Combining this amazing responsiveness with the stiff oversize head tube and fork delivers what one of our test riders called "telepathic" riding experi- ence - the Velocite Magnus takes you to your target almost instantly, and unwaveringly.
Geometry
The geometry of the Velocite Magnus is that of a thoroughbred racer. Low head tube and steep seat tube put you in the maximum power output riding position, perfect for out of the saddle sprints and attacks on the steepest of hills. Even while in the saddle, the geometry encourages you to assume a more aero position than is the current norm. Due to these aspects, the Velocite Magnus may even be used in challenging time trial situations where its light weight and perfect control may offer a winning advantage of the traditional time trial or triathlon bikes.
