

About the Velocite Selene. The twin.
Velocite Selene was made to be the best alloy frame in the world, bar none.
It shares the same geometry and same features as the Velocite Helios and completes the Helios and Selene pair (Selene, the Moon goddess, from Greek mythology is the sister of the sun god Helios). Selene is the first frame that was designed to match or exceed the performance of modern carbon fiber frames.
Design
The Velocite Selene benefits from over 30 years of excellence in alloy frame manufacturing. It is a hand welded piece of art and is THE ONLY alloy frame in the world that is 100% shot peened after welding. Shot peening extends the effective life of alloy by up to 1000% and ensures that we can offer a full lifetime warranty.
Each tube that makes up Selene is custom shaped and butted in the factory and each tube is custom manipulated for each frame size. There is nothing standard about the Selene - except for the standards compliant BB30 shell.
The tubes are then double welded by hand to ensure perfect quality and strength. The Velocite Selene is also one of the very few, or the only alloy road frame that is subjected to and passes the strict EN testing.
Finally, the Selene is painted in a specialist paint shop to achieve the highest possible finish quality.
The oversize head tube ensures that the comparable softness of aluminium (stiffness to weight ratio of aluminium alloy is a lot lower than that of high modulus carbon fiber) does not negatively impact the steering precision and confidence when racing at full speed.
All tubes are over sized to maximise the frame stiffness, but we made sure that the extreme stiffness of the Velocite Selene does not adversely impact your enjoyment by using some of the thinnest seat stays of any alloy frame.
Geometry
The geometry of the Velocite Selene is that of a stage racer. You can stay comfortable in the saddle for many hours, day after day without loss of power due to discomfort. However due to its thoroughbred credentials, the Velocite Selene is also very well suited to shorter races or criteriums.
